Crazy About Clowns? ‘Red Bastard’ Comes to URBN Black Box

“Something interesting happens every ten seconds…”

Drexel’s Co-Op Theatre Company is thrilled to present Eric Davis, aka ‘Red Bastard’ – an award-winning clown, whose mission is to charm, disarm, shock and seduce his audience. America’s premiere buffoon delivers in this critically-acclaimed show, where lines will be crossed and laughs will be had in this interactive feast of biting wit, improvisation and physical prowess.

Clad in a lumpy red unitard, Red Bastard is known for his invasive style. Audience members can expect a hands-on approach, unsuspecting questions and possibly a stage debut themselves.  In addition to performances, Eric Davis, aka Red Bastard, will be speaking with students about his work and experiences with Cirque du Soleil.  He will hold master classes in clowning with Drexel students and a special workshop for Philadelphia professional actors.

“Through the residency program, Drexel continues to immerse itself into the center of the professional theater community,” said Nick Anselmo, director of the theater program in the Westphal College of Media Arts & Design. “As a producing partner of high-quality theater, the Drexel Co-Op Theatre Company offers students the opportunity to work alongside seasoned professionals who are ingrained in the Philadelphia theater scene and on the cutting edge of their craft. This is why it is so important to us that we bring a variety of performers and shows each season.”

Red Bastard will perform in the Black Box Theater, (401 Filbert Street) – located in Drexel’s URBN Annex.
