Drexel’s Christopher Gray has come a long way since he first made headlines in 2013 as the million-dollar scholar who secured $1.3 million from 34 scholarships and created the Scholly app to help other students find and apply for scholarships. He made a successful appearance on ABC’s “Shark Tank” in 2015 and secured a $40,000 investment from two sharks for a 15 percent stake in his startup company, but recognition for his achievements didn’t stop there. Gray recently made the 2016 Forbes’ 30 Under 30 list of social entrepreneurs.
In a video posted to the Forbes website, Gray describes how Scholly is redefining the scholarship search process.

Scholly uses eight specific parameters — such as state, race, GPA or major — to instantly filter listings into a comprehensive directory of scholarships for which a prospective applicant is eligible. Users can quickly sift through the tailored results, save a list of scholarships and export it to themselves via e-mail in order to apply online. The search process takes less than five minutes.
